Meet our Family

Meet Zachariah

My name is Rochelle; mum, carer and PA to an incredible little boy named Zachariah. Zachariah has a change in the TUBB2B Gene resulting in a diagnosis of Lissencephaly, Microcephaly and Epilepsy. This diagnosis means that Zachariah has severe disabilities, tube fed, is severely visually impaired and non verbal. Every day we have had with our darling son has been an absolute blessing, as we were told he may not survive birth. 3 years later and we have been utterly amazed by all that he has achieved, and mesmerised by the many things he has taught us.

Zachariah enjoys life, especially when he’s socialing with friends, having snuggles with his favourite people and when he’s out for strolls in his buggy. He loves going to Nursery 2 days a week, benefits hugely from attending a VI Pre School Group and enjoys joining in all the activities at Derian House Children’s Hospice. He loves music, listening to stories, Elmer being his favourite, painting and playing his drum. Despite all the challenges he encounters including reflux, seizures and hip pain, Zachariah lives an exciting, fulfilled life. In the words of his Health visitor, Zachariah has the face of a cherub and the courage of a lion. He brings joy and love to those who meet him, and makes me smile every single day.

Zachariah is his Daddy s biggest fan and loves nothing more than hearing the back door open in evening and hearing his voice call his name. They are the such a beautiful team and love spending their evenings together reading stories and chatting about their day. Tim is the most wonderful Daddy to Zachariah and my rock and soul mate. Together we all make a very close, loving family and make the most of every day we have together.

I really hope you enjoy visiting our website and fall in love with our boyo enough to keep coming back to catch up with our very fun-filled, yet chaotic lives.

With lots of love,

Rochelle, Tim and ZachariahZachairah and Daddy painting
